Santa Maria de Jesus ceremonial huipil.

This post-2000 ceremonial huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three white cotton panels. It is very large and long. The principal decoration is supplementary brocade that features plumed serpent, universal diamond, double-headed eagle and other motifs. The head opening is trimmed in hand embroidered chain stitch. Santa Maria de Jesus ceremonial huipils are rare. This example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra.
