Santa Maria Chiquimula daily huipil.

This circa-2000 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp-striped cotton base panels. The panels are joined by “randas”, hand embroidered decorative seams. Hand embroidery also decorates the head opening and extends across the shoulders. Nice darting on both sides. Chiquimula huipils are uncommon. This example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Ana Carolina Ajanel at her “tienda” in Chichicastenango. W 79 x L 62 cm. (23-25) $ 110 or best offer.
