Santa Cruz Quiche huipil.

[Venacular note. We have been instructed that the women of Santa Cruz Quiche call their upper body garment a “huipil”, not a “blusa”.] This lovely huipil is made with a satin lining covered with two layers of lace and decorated with hand embroidered flowers and sprinkled with tiny, multi-colored sequins. This garment might well be considered as a piece of jewelry. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Carmen Tepeu at her “tienda” on 4e Calle Oriente in Antigua.
