Santa Catarina Palopó daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three black cotton blend base panels. The center panel is wider and more heavily decorated. The panels are decorated with dense supplementary weft brocade in horizontal rows featuring universal diamond and other geometric motifs. The head and arm openings are trimmed with a hand embroidered buttonhole stitch and florets. This large and very fine modern example was acquired from Sra. Maria Sacajan Perez of San Antonio Palopó at the La Fuente market in Antigua. It is in excellent condition. W 89 x L 73 cm. (14-51) Was $225. Now $180 or best offer.
