Santa Catarina Palopó daily huipil.

This pre-1970 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three red and white warp-striped cotton base panels. The center panel is wider and more heavily decorated. The panels are decorated with supplementary weft brocade in horizontal rows featuring plant and geometric motifs. It was acquired from Maria Tax Gomez of Santa Catarina Palopó at the “bomberos” market in Panajachel. It is in very good condition. W82 x L66 cm. (12-310) $ 180.
