Santa Catarina Palopó vintage daily huipil. W 91 x L 145 cm opened. This pre-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three red and white warp striped cotton base panels with a wider center panel. These panels are extensively decorated with supplementary brocade featuring rows of geometric, animal, bird and plant motifs. This outstanding example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Maria Tax Gomez of Santa Catarina Palopó at the “bomberos” market in Panajachel. (11-89) $180. Sold.
