Santa Apolonia huipil.

This pre-2000 daily huipil has a base of a white cotton commercial fabric known as “manta”. The decoration is hand embroidered “carefully executed to look like brocade” and is usually only on the back. The head and arm openings are trimmed with hand embroidered designs unique to Santa Apolonia. Santa Apolonia huipils are increasingly rare. This example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra. Carmen Tepeú of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G). W 72 x L 63 cm. (21-37) $ 110 or best offer.
