San Pedro Sacatepequez (SM) daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in one wide white cotton base panel, probably in Totonicapan. This panel is decorated by horizontal bands of supplementary brocade in various motifs – bird, universal diamond and others. The head and arm openings are decorated with hand embroiderey. The hand embroidered faux-randa flowers show the influence of nearby Quetzaltenango. This beautiful huipil is in excellent condition. It was acquired from an important private collection in Antigua. W 78 x L 64 cm. (19-82) $ 125. OBO
