San Pedro Sacatepequez (SM) corte (wrap skirt).
This post-1980 corte was hand woven on a back strap loom in one white weft striped cotton/rayon blend panel that is very light weight. It features ikat dye
patterns. Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye. These cortes are increasingly
uncommon. They are also rare in white. This corte is in very good condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) at
the La Fuente textile market in Antigua Guatemala. W90 x L410 cm. (12-210) $ 70. OBO
