San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) “cofradia” ceremonial huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back-strap loom in two wide white cotton panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. These panels are decorated with horizontal rows of supplementary brocade depicting the portal and zoomorphic motifs. This ceremonial huipil was used in cofradia society ceremonies, weddings and saint’s day celebrations. This example is in excellent condition.
