This huipil is a 1980’s copy of a 1920’s style wedding huipil made as a saint’s huipil. It was hand woven on a back strap loom in three white cotton panels of hand spun thread that are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The panels are heavily decorated with supplementary brocade depicting animal and bird motifs, much of it in silk and very well done. The head opening, trimmed in silk, is very small – to fit a saint’s statue. It is dress length and in like new condition. W 107 X L 86 cm. (16-209) $ 700. OBO
