San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) wedding huipil.

This pre-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two wide white cotton base panels that are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade in horizontal bands featuring plumed serpent and universal diamond motifs. The collar is trimmed with a thick hand-embroidered buttonhole stitch with a surrounding star pattern. This fine huipil is in excellent condition.
