San Pedro Necta daily huipil. W148 x L42 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in one cotton panel. This panels goes around the body, the warp threads horizontal and is closed by decorative seams across one side and the top. This construction is unique to San Pedro Necta. The warp stripes vary from brown to white. The supplementary brocade decoration features geometric motifs in the soumak technique. The head and arm holes are decorated with a crochet trim.
