This post-1980 little girl’s huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in one cotton panel. It is decorated by supplementary brocade in various geometric patterns. These huipils are uncommon outside Baja Verapaz. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Tomasa Calbo Mateo of Chichicastenango at the “bomberos” textile market in Panajachel.
