San Mateo Ixtatán capixay (woolen tunic).

This rare and unique item was hand woven on a back strap loom entirely from hand spun, undyed dark brown wool. It is decorated with hand embroidery around the collar, the cuffs, the patch pockets and the back depicting quetzal birds. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from some man I didn’t know behind the church on market day in Chichicastenango. W 63 cm at shoulders, 22 cm sleeves, 67 cm length. (16-71) $ 200. OBO
