San Martin Sacatepéquez (aka, San Martin Chile Verde) daily huipil. W75 x L130 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well matched cotton blend red panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade in typical bird and plant motifs. The head hole is decorated with an appliqued floral machine embroidered collar. The head and arm holes are trimmed with velveteen. San Martin Sacatepéquez huipils are increasingly uncommon. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Consuelo Achil of Chichicastenango.
