San Martin Sacatepéquez (aka, San Martin Chile Verde) daily huipil. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well balanced black cotton blend panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade primarily in bird and plumed serpent motifs. The panels are joined by a hand embroidered decorative seam. The head hole is trimmed in black velveteen. San Martin Chile Verde huipils are increasingly uncommon. This fine example is in excellent condition.
