San Martin Jilotepeque ceremonial huipil de niña.

Hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-balanced indigo dyed cotton base panels decorated with supplementary brocade featuring the plumed serpent motif in a weft ban across the chest and other geometric motifs, many in silk. It is extremely unusual to see a huipil de niña utilizing silk brocade. This fine example is in very good condition. From the collection of Joan Jacobson of Tucson. 21-161. W 54 x L 48 cm. $ 200 or best offer.
