San Martin Jilotepeque daily huipil

San Martin Jilotepeque daily huipil, although likely made in Totonicapan, whose stylistic influence is evident. This pre-2000 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-balanced cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade featuring horizontal rows of plumed serpent and other geometric motifs. It features a hand embroidered appliqué collar. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from an important private collection in Antigua. W 78 x L 71 cm. (19-81) $ 140. OBO
