San Martin Jilotepeque tzute (utility cloth).

This tzute was hand woven on a back-strap loom in one cotton panel decorated with weft stripes of supplementary brocade, some in silk, featuring plumed serpent and other geometric motifs. The base is indigo dyed. Very high quality weaving. Likely ceremonial use. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra. Sofia Monroy Tepeú at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua Guatemala. W 40 x L 108 cm. (18-114) $150. OBO
