San Martin Jilotepeque daily huipil.

This circa-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-balanced black cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with particularly finely woven supplementary brocade featuring plumed serpent and other geometric motifs. Some of the brocade utilizes indigo dyed threads. The decoration extends to the hem. This fine example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Gladys Mendez Bocó at the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua. W 78 x L 59 cm. (15-114) $ 130. OBO
