This circa-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well matched black and white warp striped cotton panels. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade in traditional San Lucas patterns. The collar is trimmed with hand embroidered buttonhole stitch. It is in very good condition.
