San Lucas Toliman daily huipil.
This pre-1970 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-matched white and red warp striped
cotton base panels. It is decorated with supplementary brocade with rows of small geometric and animal motifs typical of San Lucas Tolimán. The
arm and head holes are surrounded with appliqué and hand embroidered floral patterns. This classic example is in very good condition.
It was acquired from Sras. Ema and Carmen Tepeú of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) at the La Fuente market in Antigua. W 65 x L 56 cm. (14-164) Was $80. Now $65 or best offer.
