San Lucas Toliman daily huipil.

This pre-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-matched red and white warp striped cotton base panels. It is decorated with supplementary brocade with rows of small geometric and animal motifs typical of San Lucas Toliman huipils. The head opening is trimmed with black velvet in a sunburst pattern. It has black velvet “lunas” on both sides. This example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Romé and Rosa Perez on Calle Santander in Panajachel. W 70 x L 53 cm. (11-72) $ 55. OBO
