San Juan Atitan tzute.

This pre-1980 tzute was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp-striped red cotton panels joined by a hand embroidered decorative seam. There is more hand embroidery along the single fringe. Given its age, this is a very uncommon item. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra. Ana Carolina Ajanel at her tienda in Chichicastenango. W 87 x L 91 cm plus fringe. (16-125) $ 70.
