San Jose Poaquil daily huipil. W80 x L120 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two very well matched white cotton panels. It features the red band across the shoulders, also typical of older huipils from nearby San Juan Comalapa, but here wider. The supplementary brocade primarily depicts plant motifs. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from the Centro de Textiles Tradicionales Nim Po’t in Antigua Guatemala. (6-327) $ 85. SOLD.
