San Jose Poaquil daily huipil.

This pre-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-matched cotton panels decorated with horizontal bands of supplementary brocade. It features the red band across the shoulders, also typical of older huipils from nearby San Juan Comalapa, but usually wider in Poaquil. The supplementary brocade depicts double-headed eagle motifs. This superb example is in very good condition. It was acquired from the collection of Richard Stanton. W106 x L65 cm. (18-20) $ 125. OBO
