San Jose Nacahuil daily huipil.
W78 x L128 cm opened. This pre-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well matched white cotton panels. The panels are joined by a delicate hand embroidered decorative seam. The decoration is a heavy supplementary brocade featuring the quetzal bird motif. San Jose Nacahuil huipils are influenced by the much larger and nearby San Pedro Sacatepéquez (G) huipils. However, they are much more uncommon. This classic example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Bonifacia Mendez Bocó of Santa Maria de Jesus. (6-336) $ 120 *SOLD*
