San Jose Nacahuil daily huipil.

This circa-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back- strap loom in two well-matched white cotton base panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. These panels are decorated with dense supplementary brocade featuring the paired quetzal birds in a band across the chest. The collar is trimmed with hand embroidery. San José Nacahuil huipils are increasingly uncommon. This fine example is in very good condition. It was acquired from the tienda of Sra. Bonifacia Bocó in the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua. W 83 x L 68 cm. (19-151) $ 200 or best offer.
