San Jose Nacahuil daily huipil.

This circa-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton base panels that are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. These panels are decorated with dense supplementary brocade featuring universal diamond and facing-quetzal bird (duality) motifs. San Jose Nacahuil huipils are uncommon. This fine example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Petronila Mendez Boco at the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua Guatemala. W 94 x L 63 cm. (15-93) $ 200. OBO
