San Ildefonso Ixtahuacán daily huipil. W88 x L88 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three striped red cotton panels. The center panel is wider and more extensively decorated. The San Ildefonso huipil resembles the huipil from nearby Colotenango in the use of supplementary brocade in the soumak style. But it also features fine hand embroidery around the head opening. The head and arm opening are also trimmed in an hand embroidered chain stitch. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Ana Carolina Ajanel of Chichicastenango. (6-317) $ 110 *SOLD*
