San Ildefonso Ixtahuacan daily huipil.

This fine huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three white cotton panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. It features brocade in the “soumak” style similar to nearby Colotenango, but with a hand embroidered collar decoration characteristic of San Ildefonso. It is exceptionally wide, suggesting ceremonial use. Circa 1980. This classic example is in excellent condition. From the collection of Joan Jacobson of Tucson. W 109 x L 48 cm. 21-245. $ 200 or best offer.
