San Cristobal Totonicapan (?) corte. Weft 97 x warp 390 cm opened. This post-1980 corte was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in one wide cotton panel. It features ikat dye patterns in indigo both on the warp and weft. Although generic to the Totonicapan-Salcaja corte weaving area, this corte is thought to have been made in San Cristobal Totonicapan. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Maria Pol of Chichicastenango at the “bomberos” textile market in Panajachel. (11-190) $ 80.

Sold. Other similar cortes may be available. Photos provided on request.
