San Antonio Palopó daily huipil. W90 x L180 cm opened. This contemporary daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three cotton panels. The weaving features complex warp stripes with very subtle ikat dye patterns, but does not have supplementary brocade. These huipils are traditionally worn with multiple strands of gold beads. The neck hole is surrounded by a hand embroidered sun symbol and finished with chain stitch. It is in excellent condition. It was collected from Maria Secajan Perez of San Antonio Palopó.
