This circa-1975 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three cotton base panels. The weaving features complex warp stripes, but does not have supplementary brocade. These huipils were traditionally worn with multiple strands of gold beads. This huipil is in excellent condition. It was acquired from the collection of an ex-US diplomat in Guatemala.
