This post-1980 blusa features hand embroidery on a white commercial cotton blend base. The embroidery is all hand done in the style unique to San Andres Xecul. The head and arm openings are trimmed with hand embroidery in a buttonhole stitch and features a sunburst motif at the neck and many whimsical animals in the surrounding areas. Xecul blusas are now increasingly rare. This fine example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua Guatemala. W 87 x L 70 cm. (12-201) $ 110. OBO
