San Andres Semetabaj daily huipil.

This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-matched white cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade featuring horizontal bands of geometric patterns. Most San Andres Semetabaj huipils are predominantly red brocade on a white base. This unique example features an atypical color palette. The head opening is trimmed with velvet. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Petronila Mendez Bocó of Santa Maria de Jesus. W74 x L119 cm opened. (9-69) $ 70. OBO
