San Andres Semetabaj daily huipil.
This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two
well-matched white cotton panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade in intricate geometric
patterns typical of San Andres Semetabaj. This huipil is in the village’s classic design and colors. The head
and arm openings are trimmed with velvet. This example is in excellent condition. From Josefa
Tocco of San Juan La Laguna at the “bomberos” market in Panajachel. W 83 X L 66 cm. (15-239) Was $125. Now $100 OBO.
