San Andres Sajcabaja corte (wrap skirt).

This circa-1980 corte was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in one weft striped cotton panel, plus a narrow matching piece added for length. It features subtle ikat dye patterns. Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye. San Andres Sajacabaj cortes are rare. This example is in very good condition. It was collected from Juana Mateo Rosales at her tienda in Tinamet Maya on Calle Santander in Panajachel. The top photograph shows only half of the material. Typically, we sell cortes for yardage. W91 x L430 cm. (6-421) $ 90. OBO
