Samayac corte (wrap skirt).

This circa-1970 corte was hand woven on a food treadle loom in two cotton panels. One panel is 81 cm wide (weft) and the other is a 15 cm added piece, typical of many cortes where they want them longer than the loom provides. Samayac cortes are rare, older ones in all cotton especially so. This one also features some indigo dyed stripes. Like most cortes, it is sown together in a loop. It is very good condition. It was collected from Juana Mateo Rosales of Panajachel. W96 x L416 cm opened. (6-419) $ 150. OBO
