Rabinal daily huipil. W82 x L156 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven, probably on a foot treadle loom, since it is in one wide red cotton base panel. It is decorated with supplemental brocade in vertical zigzags typical of Rabinal huipils. The collar is trimmed with a black embroidered chain stitch. Rabinal huipils are hard to find, if not rare. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G). (10-145) $ 80.
