Quetzaltenango corte (wrap skirt).
This post-1980 corte was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in one wide cotton panel. It features ikat dye patterns and indigo stripes in the
weft stripes. Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye, except that different
combinations of threads are dyed before they are woven. This example is in very good condition.
It was acquired from Sra. Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) in Antigua. W 84 cm x very long and gathered. (20-43) $ 110 or best offer.
