Quetzaltenango/Totonicapan daily huipil.
This pre-2000 huipil was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in three white cotton panes
that are joined by embroidered decorative seams. The surface decoration features horizontal rows of simple ikat dye patterns in
indigo. These huipils are popular with Maya women throughout the highlands of Guatemala. It is in very good condition. This
example was acquired from Sra. Carmen Tepeú at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua Guatemala.
