Quetzaltenango vintage rebozo.
This pre-1980 rebozo was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in one warp-striped cotton/silk panel.
Many of the warp stripes are in a rose colored silk that has faded to pink. It features ikat chevrons typical of Quetzaltenago rebozos,
here in indigo. The fringes are hand knotted warp threads. Quetzaltenango silk rebozos are rare and are no longer produced. This fine
example is old and soft, but in good condition. It was acquired from the Sra. Carmen Tepeú at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua.
W 77 x L 186 cm plus fringes. (18-113) $375. OBO
