Quetzaltenango vintage rebozo.
This circa-1960 rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom in one warp-striped panel. The
weft is cotton and the warp is cotton and silk. It features ikat chevrons typical of Quetzaltenago rebozos, here in indigo.
The fringes are hand knotted warp threads. It is old and soft. Quetzaltenango silk rebozos are rare and are no longer produced.
It is in good condition. This very collectable example was acquired from the Sra. Carmen Tepeú at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua.
