Quetzaltenango daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in two white cotton base panels. The surface decoration features weft stripes in ikat dye patterns. The head and arm openings are decorated with embroidered flowers. Quetzaltenango huipils are popular with Maya women throughout the highlands of Guatemala. This fine example was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeú at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua. It is in very good condition. W 77 x L 68 cm. (15-79) $ 80. OBO
