Quetzaltenango daily huipil.
This extra-large post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in 3 white cotton base panels. These panels are joined by thick hand embroidered
decorative seams. The supplementary brocade decoration features a mélange of bird, plant and plumed serpent motifs. It has an appliqué collar that is hand
embroidered and opened for easier access. This very fine example is new. It was acquired in 1993 in the Quetzaltenango market while I was there in language
school. It was the finest example I could find at the time and has been in our private collection since. W92 x L88cm. (11-291) $ 225. OBO
