Quetzaltenango rebozo (shawl). W 73 x L 183 cm plus fringes. This post-1980 rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom in one wide warp striped cotton panel. It features ikat chevrons typical of Quetzaltenago rebozos. The fringes are created by hand knotted warp threads at both end and the addition of pompoms. It is in very good condition. It was collected from Tomasa Calbo Mateo of Chichicastenango at the “bomberos” textile market in Panajachel. (11-196) $ 65.
