This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two cotton/rayon blend warp-striped panels joined by “randas”, hand embroidered decorative seams. This base material is known as “aleman” and is prized for its softness and drape. This huipil features extensive hand embroidered decoration in the floral motif. It is excellent condition. It was acquired from Maria Isabel Gonzales of Patzicia at the “bomberos” market in Panajachel. W81 x L57 cm. (9-61) $75. OBO
