Patzún daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two cotton/rayon blend warp-striped panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. This base material is known as “aleman” and is prized for its softness and drape. This huipil features extensive hand embroidered decoration centered on the head opening in the more traditional but less common “plumas” (feathers) motif, often associated with ceremonial huipils. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Juanita Conos of Chichicastenango at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua Guatemala. W 88 x L 57 cm. (16-99) $ 110. OBO
